The War Strategy To Win Your Best K-Pop Concert

Ternyata rebutan tiket konser ada strateginya. Sayang khan udah keluar uang jutaan, eh cuma dapet pemandangan punggung si Oppa karena salah posisi. Begini nih caranya.

I think I don’t need to explain again that I am huge EXO fans. Last year, when they held their concert in Jakarta, I couldn’t attend because I was currently 7 months pregnant and there were no seated tickets. So, when my friend forward me tweet that they will hold concert again in Indonesia, I was gone from 0 to 1000 in a second.

When the promoter published their 3rd announcement (the 2nd announcement was that the concert won’t get cancellation due to terrorists attack in Jakarta), this time the seating plan, I was frantically telegramming my sister.

My sister have had more experience went to K-pop concert. While this will be my first. We spent telegramming for an hour, and turns out there are some strategy to secure the best place in K-pop concert. On her words, we do need to have a strategy when we have to compete with teenage girls full of raging hormones. Ok, I trust you sist.

So, basically here are the strategy:

How much your budget
How much money you have?. I think I saved enough money to buy the pink or blue area ticket. I’m ok with blue, but I think pink would be best. So, it comes to next strategy…

Who’s your bias
Bias in K-pop fandom means the member of the boyband/girlband that you like the most. The great thing about K-pop boyband is that they have strict formation, usually based on their heights, or looks, or their role (singer, dancer, rapper, etc) and it won’t change between concert. All you need to do is watching their previous concerts on Youtube, and pay close attention at where your bias positioned during act, and you choose the closest area with your bias. My sister said, she might choose Yellow A area, because her bias is always positioned in the right side of stage. Me? I don’t have bias, so go to the next strategy…

How much energy you have
Pink (VIP) will be the least crowded. Green (Tribune) will be the most crowded. If you are more on the weak side, choose pink. If you believe that you have enough energy to fight with those teenage girls (and their parents) choose yellow or green. Since I’m really not in the mood to mingle with screaming girls, and after watching a few concert I think that the percentage of act on main stage and island stage is quite the same, I decided that I’ll take blue. And the last strategy is…

How you will get the ticket
Why K-pop concert is a war? Because you definitely have to fight (on the internet and the phone) to get your tickets. Because mostly the booking system was like this: when the ticket box was open, you fight to get your booking code (make sure your internet is fast enough to refresh your browser maybe hundreds of time), after you got a booking code, you have to make payment as fast as possible, if you exceed the given payment time, your booking code will automatically invalid, after that you’ll get booking receipt, that you have to exchange with the real ticket a couple of days before the concert.

Tiring huh? So there are more convenient method, that is you pay someone to book a ticket for you with some small fee. You can ask your friends to help you booking your tickets, or you can use freelance ticket buyer service (Warning: This kind of service is on grey area. Do not trust service which promise you early queue number (because queue number will be given to you at the venue, first come first serve), or if they charge you 2-3 times the original price (it makes them calo or pander, and it’s totally illegal under Indonesia law). My best friend connected me with one of this service she knew personally, and they only charge me Rp.50.000, around 2% from the original price. I choose to use this kind of freelance ticket buyer service because I don’t have time to waiting the opening of the ticket box. If my baby fussing when the ticket box was open, I’ll lose my chance to get the ticket.

So, are you ready to watch K-pop concert? It will be fun I promise.
